#BYMDoppio ☕☕: It’s (not) Always Sunny in Health Foods Industry
For the last two decades, the health foods industry in India has been growing at a rapid pace which has ultimately increased the competition in the market.
The food tastes so good, and it makes me happy. Do you also say this to yourself at least once a day, or is it just me? We all know how important food is for our survival, of course, but also to satiate our cravings which can tap on the door anytime. Imagine, for some reason, you are no longer allowed to taste your favourite dishes; the world will fall apart, for me at least. It’s not just imagination because some people have to restrict themselves and their cravings.
For people who suffer from diabetes or say PCOS, their well-being depends on what they consume on a daily basis. It’s a sad fact as they cannot enjoy some of their favourite dishes without compromising on taste, but it’s necessary.
For the last two decades, the health foods industry in India has been growing at a rapid pace which has ultimately increased the competition in the market. The well-known big giants of this industry are making “health-friendly” products that will not only take care of people’s health but also give them the desired taste.
You must have seen products in the market under the label “No added sugars” or “Sugar-free” or “Vegan Friendly,” but if you see the ingredients list on the other side of the package, you’ll find something like, “Natural sugars 22%” or something written in scientific jargon.
You see what we are trying to say here! These Health Brands are not very transparent or rather do not reveal the whole truth about their healthy products. As a consumer, you should be aware of what you’re consuming under these healthy labels, as a lot depends on it; one wrong move could result in serious complications. As the saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure,” it’s always good if you can prevent something wrong from happening.
That’s why this week’s podcast is dedicated to discussing health and health brands. It’s a conversation between Rakshit and our special guest (or should I say) Chef Harsh Kedia, where they dissect the health foods industry and unveil many unanswered facets of it. Harsh is the founder of the brand, A Diabetic Chef, and as the name suggests, he’s diabetic (ironic, huh). Since he has been working in the industry for the past 8 years, he pretty much knows the industry inside out.
Tune in to our podcast and take an insider look at the Health Food industry. Get aware of what health brands have been selling you.
