#BYMDoppio☕☕: The Art of Building Brands with Shweta Sivasankaran
Taking this demanding and challenging question, we did a podcast with the Marketing and Growth Head of Mensa Brands, which, for your information, became the fastest brand to turn unicorn in India.
Take all the big brands you know and for a minute, think about why you know them. It could be that out of all those brands, you only know the names of some but do not actually know what they do, but still, you recognize those brands. These brands must have done something, good or bad, for you to remember them.
Why do you remember them? It’s because of something called Brand Marketing. Brand and Marketing are two different things that work together to build a name for their brand or company. A brand builds good brand recognition when it does its marketing right!
You must have heard that no matter how good your product or service is, if you are not marketing it right, it means nothing. On the other hand, if your product or service is average or bad, but you’re doing the right marketing, then it makes a place for itself in the market (though it doesn’t apply in the long run, you got the point).
Building brands is not easy. Some of the biggest brands today, such as Apple, Tesla, and Starbucks, even faced a situation where they had to deal with the threat of bankruptcy. But look at them now, dominating the whole marketing space. It’s all blood, sweat, tears, and marketing.
So what marketing and branding strategies and tips they and other biggies out there followed to build an image, trust, and brand recognition in their target audience? Taking this demanding and challenging question, we did a podcast with the Marketing and Growth Head of Mensa Brands, which, for your information, became the fastest brand to turn unicorn in India.
Praney and our special guest, Shweta Sivasankaran, sit together to discuss the ‘The Art of Building Brands’ in this week’s podcast. Shweta is a professional marketer and has worked with some pretty big brands in her career (after Finshots and Unacademy, we lost count).
Coming from a marketing agency background, Praney and Shweta share some amazing insights on how marketing and branding differ not only from industry to industry but also from stage to stage. They talk about the shifting dynamics of brand loyalty because of so many choices available in front of the consumer and the power it holds on our behaviour as consumers.
