C.E. Info Systems, best known as MapmyIndia, was started in 1995, three years before Google, and is now a mapping veteran.
People sat up and took notice on July 27 when Google Maps revealed the revival of its 360-degree panoramic Street View function in India. Google later collaborated with Tech Mahindra and the geospatial service provider Genesys International to comply with India's new National Geospatial Policy 2021.
MapmyIndia was competing with Google Maps. Those who asked who the opponent was were unaware that the Indian firm was no newcomer. C.E. Info Systems, best known as MapmyIndia, was started in 1995, three years before Google, and is now a mapping veteran.
On the same day, MapmyIndia, a lesser-known domestic startup, debuted a rival 360-degree street-view imaging feature called Mappls RealView and a 3D metaverse and 3D immersive maps mapping service. The Mappls RealView maps library spans tens of thousands of kilometres, with over 40 million geo-tagged 360-degree panoramas and films, including cities, tourist attractions, city streets, and highways.
